Chores & Challenges will be at Vision Zone in Leatherhead

Vision Zone is a fantastic opportunity to explore support services, assistive technology, community groups, and practical resources designed to support people living with low vision or sight loss. A wide range of organisations and charities will be attending, offering information, advice, and hands-on experiences with helpful equipment and technology.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet organisations including Sight for Surrey, Surrey Coalition of Disabled People, Mary Frances Trust, Thomas Pocklington Trust, Epsom & Ewell Talking Newspapers, Synapptic and OrCam.

At Chores & Challenges, we are passionate about supporting independence in everyday life. We work alongside individuals with visual impairments to assist with daily routines, practical tasks, and creating a more accessible and comfortable home environment.

Support can include:

• Regular trusted contact and companionship
• Flexible support tailored to changing needs
• Weekly meal preparation
• Organising medication and treatment trays with tactile markers
• Preparing and labelling clothing and weekly outfits
• Reducing trip hazards and keeping home layouts consistent and accessible
• Practicing and reinforcing safe routes and orientation at home
• Maintaining tactile labels, audio tags, and other accessibility aids around the home
• Basic technology support, including voice settings, reminders, and accessible device setup
• Grocery shopping, unpacking, and organising items in consistent locations
• Reading and summarising post, assisting with simple paperwork, and setting reminders for appointments or bills
• Accompanying individuals to appointments
